For forty years this office building on Glendale Blvd. was the home of the Neutra architectural practice and remains the only example of Neutra commercial design with its original appearance. Designed in the International Modern Style for which the architect is remembered as one of its greatest pioneers. The building retains original buit-ins and interior detailing designed by Neutra.The Neutra Office Building is located at 2379 Glendale Blvd. in Silver Lake. Commissioned from Frederick Monhoff, AIA, an architect for the Los County Architectural Division and a design instructor at the Otis Art Institute and UCLA. His work includes architectural masterpieces such as the old Biltmore Hotel in Palm Springs. He was married to the celebrated poet and essayist Hildegarde Flanner, who wrote extensively about Southern California life in the early twentieth century.
